| When routing wiring for the automatic fire alarm system, metal conduits, flexible (metal) electrical conduits, rigid plastic conduits of Class B1 or higher, or enclosed trunking shall be used for protection. When fire control, communication and alarm circuits are concealed, metal conduits or flame-retardant-treated rigid plastic conduits should be used for protection, and they shall be routed within non-combustible structural layers, with a protection layer thickness of not less than 30 mm; when installed exposed, metal conduits or metal trunking shall be used for protection, and fire protection measures shall be applied to the metal conduits or metal trunking.
