| Unless otherwise specified in this Code, a solid wall of not less than 1.2 m in height or a fire-resistant projecting eave with a projecting width of not less than 1.0 m and a length of not less than the opening width shall be provided between the openings of upper and lower storeys on the exterior wall of a building. Where an automatic sprinkler system is installed indoors, the height of the solid wall between the openings of upper and lower storeys shall not be less than 0.8 m. In hotel buildings, the exterior windows of guest rooms shall meet this requirement. |
