| | **Upward overspeed protection device**: For elevators with a rated speed greater than 0.63 m/s, an upward overspeed protection device shall be installed. This device shall act on the car, counterweight, or rope system, and its tripping speed shall not exceed 115% of the governor tripping speed. |
