Elevator engineering acceptance standards and quality inspection

Elevator engineering Updated 2026-04-25 0 views

Elevator engineering acceptance is a key step to ensure elevator installation quality and operational safety, involving three stages: civil construction handover acceptance, installation engineering acceptance…

Civil works handover acceptance standards

The civil works handover acceptance is the first step of the elevator installation project, jointly attended by the general contractor, the installation unit and the supervision unit. Acceptance items and standards: (1) Hoistway dimensions: net width and net depth deviation +20mm (positive deviation only), hoistway verticality deviation ≤50mm (full height) or 1/1000; (2) Hoistway walls: concrete strength grade not lower than C25, wall surface flatness deviation ≤10mm/2m; (3) Landing door reserved openings: width deviation +25mm, height deviation +25mm, embedded parts reserved on both sides of the door opening (spacing per elevator manufacturer's requirements); (4) Machine room: floor live load ≥6kN/m2, traction machine foundation bearing capacity ≥10kN/m2, clear height ≥2.5m, reserved holes and lifting hook positions accurate (lifting hook bearing capacity ≥2 times the traction machine weight); (5) Pit: depth meets design requirements (already determined by speed), pit floor level, drainage facilities provided (sump pit or drainage pump); (6) Others: hoistway lighting and ventilation reserved in place, hoistway safety door position correct (must be provided when hoistway length >50m). For items failing acceptance, the civil works unit must provide a written commitment on the rectification time; handover to the installation unit may only proceed after rectification is completed.

Key points of installation engineering acceptance

Installation engineering acceptance is a comprehensive inspection of elevator installation quality and should be verified item by item. Key acceptance items and standards: (1) Guide rail installation: spacing deviation between the two guide rail columns 0-2mm, guide rail verticality ≤1.5mm/5m (or 1/2000), guide rail joint step ≤0.05mm (smooth transition); (2) Traction machine installation: levelness ≤1/1000, traction sheave verticality deviation ≤2mm, contact surface between brake shoe and brake wheel ≥75%, even brake shoe clearance (0.1-0.3mm); (3) Car installation: car levelness ≤1/1000, gap between car door and car wall ≤1mm, horizontal deviation between car sill and landing door sill ≤1mm; (4) Landing door installation: gap between door leaf and door frame ≤6mm, gap between door leaf and sill ≤8mm, gap between door leaves ≤5mm (center-opening door), gap between door vane and landing door sill 6-10mm; (5) Wire rope installation: tension deviation of each rope ≤5%, rope head combination babbitt metal casting full and free of blowholes, position deviation of wire rope in rope groove ≤1mm; (6) Electrical installation: control cabinet wiring correct and firm, grounding resistance ≤4Ω (cabinet), ≤0.5Ω (repeated grounding).

Special equipment supervision inspection process

Special equipment supervision inspection is a legal prerequisite for putting elevators into use. Inspection process: (1) Document review: the installation unit submits the installation notification (already filed with the Market Supervision Bureau), manufacturing license (type test certificates for traction machine/control system/car), installation unit qualification certificate, and installation process supervision inspection documents; (2) On-site inspection: personnel dispatched by the local Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (Special Inspection Institute) conduct on-site inspection, taking about 45 minutes per elevator (about 1 day for 8 elevators). Inspection items include: a) Machine room part (traction machine, control cabinet, speed governor, emergency electric operation); b) Car part (car door, operation panel, emergency alarm device, overload protection); c) Landing part (landing door, landing buttons, floor display, arrival prompt); d) Hoistway and pit part (guide rails, buffers, limit switches, tension pulley); (3) Test items: safety gear linkage test, speed governor calibration, buffer test, 125% rated load test (overload protection); (4) Inspection conclusion: qualified or unqualified. Unqualified items must be rectified within 15 working days and re-inspection applied for; (5) Certification: after passing inspection, the Special Inspection Institute issues the Elevator Supervision Inspection Report, and the Market Supervision Bureau issues the Elevator Use Mark (including the next inspection date, valid for 1 year).

Acceptance document archiving and handover

Elevator engineering acceptance documents are an important basis for elevator full-life-cycle management and should be completely archived. Document list: (1) Design documents: elevator hoistway design drawings, elevator equipment technical specifications, detailed design drawings (including BIM model); (2) Equipment documents: elevator manufacturing license, type test certificate, product certificate of conformity, factory inspection report, installation and operation manual; (3) Installation documents: installation notification (already filed), installation construction organization design, installation process self-inspection records (guide rail verticality and spacing measurement records, wire rope tension records, leveling accuracy commissioning records, etc.); (4) Acceptance documents: civil works handover acceptance record, installation engineering acceptance record (including inspection lots), special equipment supervision inspection report, elevator use mark; (5) Maintenance documents: elevator maintenance manual, equipment spare parts list, supplier contact information; (6) As-built drawings: as-built drawings reflecting the actual completed installation. All documents should be in triplicate (one copy archived by the owner hotel, one copy kept with the elevator (placed in the document box in the machine room), and one copy given to the maintenance unit). Electronic copies should be scanned and archived in the hotel engineering management system.
